1st Gulf Cup - 1970 Manama _Bahrain 27-March to 3-April Champion : Kuwait
The first Gulfen tournament started in the Bahraini capital in 27 of march 1970 , under the patronage on Shaikh Eesa
Ben Salman Al Khalifa the prince of Bahrain , and Shaikh Hamad Ben Eesa al Khalifa raised the flag of the tournament of the
first Gulfen tournament , and Bahrain has offered a trophy of pure silver in the high of 12 cm , coasts 860 Dinars , and the
Bahraini men worked hard to make this tournament as successful as possible , and they did . In this cup only Kuwait ,
KSA , Bahrain and Qatar participated .

2nd Gulf Cup - 1972 Saudi Arabia 15 to 28 March Champion : Kuwait
This tournament was held in the Sudia Arabia as decided before in Bahrain, and the KSA for sure wanted to make it as good
as the one of the Bahrainies . This tournament was started in the afternoon of 15th of march 1972 in the malaz stadium.
The UAE participated in the cup for the very first time .

3rd Gulf Cup - 1974 Kuwait 15 to 29 March Champion : Kuwait
The cup is in Kuwait for the very first time , and the hole tournament was held on the stadium of Kuwait in kifan area under
the patronage of his highness Shaikh Subah El Salem Al Subah the prince of Kuwait . in this cup they didnt stick to the league
rule they followed in the earlier tournaments , that their were a qualification round of 2 groups and then semi final and
a final game , which gave the tournament a special taste In this tournament Oman participated for the
first time .

4th Gulf Cup - 1976 Qatar 25 March to 15 April Champion : Kuwait
Qatar has mentioned a big soccer festival by hosting this tournament, that many soccer expert consider it the best so far,
it mentioned a big opening ceremony held in the Olympic Khalifa stadium . Again their was a country participating for
the first time and it was Iraq this time, although it was never a Gulfen country.

5th Gulf Cup - 1979 Iraq 23 March to 8 April Champion : Iraq
This cup supposed to be in the UAE but emirates apologized to give Baghdad the credit .the start was in the 23 of march in
the ( shaab) nation stadium in Baghdad the Iraqi capital .

6th Gulf Cup - 1982 United Arab Emirates 19 March to 4 April Champion : Kuwait
The games started in the Emirati capital Abu Dhabi , under the patronage of his highness Zeyed Sultan al Nuhaian the president
of the UAE in Zayed sport city stadium , and the UAE won the first game their 1-0 to Qatar .

games were in the police stadium in alwatia , and his highness the sultan Kaboos be Saeed the sultan of Oman opened the ceremony

The cup was back again in the Bahraini capital. It was to start in the 7th of march but the confederation of African football
asked them to leave it to the 22nd on this month so that it wont be in the same time with the African cup of nation .

9th Gulf Cup - 1988 Saudi Arabia 2 to 18 March Champion : Iraq
This one said to be the most successful cup of all the others , and if that showed something , it will show us what efforts
did the government of the KSA gave to the field of soccer and youth and the field of sports as well . not to mention the appearance
of his highness king Fahad Ben Abdulaziz and his gift to this tournament , the gulfen superbness , the Fahad international
stadium .

The fastest goals :
In each tournament their was some goals came so fast to surprise the other team that were enough to change the hole game statistics.
- The fastest goal in the first cup scored by the Kuwaiti Jawad Khalaf in the Bahraini goal in the third minute . -
The fastest in the second tournament was scored by the Saudi player which was known as (The Rocket) Mohammed Al Mognem after
17 seconds form the starting whistle against UAE and this goal is considered the fastest in the hole cups until this day .
- The fastest in the third cup scored by the Kuwaiti Fathi Kameel in the final game against KSA after 35 minute from
the staring of the game . - The Qatarian Seef Al Hajry scored the fastest against Emirates after 2 minutes only in the
forth cup. - The fastest in the fifth scored by the Iraqi Hussain Saeed in the first minute of the game against Qatar.
- And the fastest in the sixth scored by the Bahraini Yousef Al Shireedah in the Saudi goal after 37 minute from the
starting whistle. - And Adnan Al Taliani the Emirati player scored in the forth minute the fastest goal in the seventh
tournament against Qatar. - The Bahraini Hammed Mohammed had the honor of scoring the fastest goal in the fifth minute
against KSA in the eighth tournament. - And again bahrain had the owners of the fastest goal this time by Hisham Al Boloshi
in the goal of Qatar in the seventh minute, that was in the ninth cup of course. - And then a penalty gave the Omani
Hilal Hameed the fastest goal in the third minute against Qatar again in the tenth cup. - Bahrain again scored the fastest
by Abdulrazaq Mohammad again in the third minute against KSA in the eleventh cup. - And in the twelfth Mahmood Sofi scored
the fastest in the second minute against KSA . - There came the third minute again to give Hamad Al Saleh the Kuwaiti
striker the honor to score the fastest goal in the thirteenth cup in the Saudi goal . Note : Kuwait , Oman
and Iraq had nothing against them from these fast goals . Another note: We find that KSA received the most of
them, it received 6 , Qatar received 4 , 2 against UAE and 1 against Bahrain.

10th Gulf Cup - 1990 Kuwait 20-February to 9-March Champion : Kuwait
This time the cup is in Kuwait again , and they didnt let the title run away from them for sure. The prince of Kuwait opened
the great opening ceremony that had many great national songs still singed here in Kuwait till this day , and this time it
was not in kaifan , it was in al edailyah , the next area to kaifan in the stadium of friendship and peace (al sadaka wal
salam) the stadium of kazma my club .

General information: - Kuwait won the tournament 9 times, Iraq 3, Qatar and KSA once. - The forth cup witnessed
the larger number of goals ever scored in one cup, their has been 84 goals scored, and 70 in the fifth cup, and 53 in the
second and 46 in the seventh. - The first stadium that was opened for the first time to this cup was Kuwait stadium in
the third tournament. - The first coach to be fired during the tournaments was mario zagalo the Saudi coach in the seventh
tournament .
11th Gulf Cup - 1992 Qatar 27-Nov. to 10-Dec. Champion : Qatar
This tournament showed us some surprises , it was the first time that a country other than Kuwait or Iraq win the title ,
Qatar had a great victory in achieving the cup on their land .

The KSA waited for 24 years to achieve this cup, by 2 goals for Fahad Al Muhalal in the goal of Khaled Al Fadly , to give
KSA the first cup and to make the sudie audience celebrate in shaikh zeyed stadium this victory in UAE not to mention in the
KSA after they get their .
